Each discussion will be taught by multiple course staff present to help out in small groups. Discussions start week 1. There is no discussion in week 0.

We highly encourage students to attend discussions every week. They will not be recorded. The material in discussion is required and our support for it online for people who did not attend will be minimal at best. Working through problems is the best way to learn this material. You cannot learn deep learning by simply reading about it or watching lectures. You need to practice solving problems.

We will have very limited office hours. There is zero support for individualized tutoring. Students are expected to learn from lecture and discussion (as well as ask questions in person there) as well as on their own and with their study groups.

Faculty office hours will prioritize conceptual questions and those about lectures, but we will try our best to help all students as much as possible! Feel free to come with homework questions, and also you are welcome to come to the OH room to just work on the HW, find study groups, etc.

GSI Office hours will prioritize homework questions for the currently due homework, homework solutions questions for the homework that was due the previous week, and questions related to the discussions. You are also welcome to come to the OHs to just work on the HW, find study groups, etc. Lecture questions are not in scope for GSI Office hours.
